Great video! I have some of those glass buoys but the ropes are frayed and i want to change them, what type of rope is that one sir and how thick? Thank you very much!
I am no expert but I will share what I know. This wont answer your question though. The larger balls were used on long liners and the cordage which you probably have on yours doesn’t seem to be available anymore. I have a large glass float and the line is in decent enough condition. I am living in Japan now and I am going to attempt to source the original type cordage but I think I am going to be told they don’t make it anymore. If I find it I will let you know. In the 70’s we I used to see Japanese and Korean long liners both at the piers in Panama and at sea in the western tropical pacific and they carried I believe, hundreds of these glass floats. I think the same cordage may have been used to connect the floats in long lines with leaders and hooks attached to them. So if true, at one time there was a lot of this cordage. You may wish to keep your floats as they are rather than undoing them. Anyway I will let you know what I find out.
